Your Housing Area

This section contains information mainly of interest to tenants and leaseholders about the housing areas and area housing offices. Most of Islington’s council tenanted and leasehold properties receive their services from Homes for Islington.

Your local area housing office deals with the following services: rent enquiries, tenancy matters, re-housing enquiries, communal area repairs, new communal door fobs, estate parking, antisocial behaviour and some housing benefit enquiries. You can also book home visits and make appointments with housing advisors.

Area offices do not deal with street parking; receive rent payments, repairs, major works, the decent homes programme or housing benefit claims.

Islington’s housing areas have been reorganised. There are now 4 housing areas, as listed below:

• Holland Walk Housing Area
• Lyon Street Housing Area
• Upper Street Housing Area

If you live in a PFI property

Services to PFI properties are provided by Partners for Improvement in Islington. If your home is part of the PFI 1 scheme, it will be listed in the PFI 1 index. If your home is part of the PFI 2 scheme, it will be listed in the PFI 2 index.

If you live in a TMO property or cooperative

Some of your services will be provided by your TMO (Tenant Management Organisations) or cooperative. The management agreements of TMOs and cooperatives list which services they deliver and which are delivered by Homes for Islington.

If you are in a PFI property, repairs and major works are provided by Partners.

If you are in a TMO or cooperative, HFI carries out your major works, but your TMO or cooperative will provide some or all of your day-to-day repairs.
