A: When you submit a form to report a communal repair, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement. This will assure you that the repair has our attention. If you have any questions concerning the progress of your repair contact HFI Direct on 0800 694 3344 between 8.00am and 8.00pm Monday-Friday and 8.00am-12noon Saturday or telephone the Quality Assurance Officer in your area housing office.

Q: I reported a communal repair a month ago and it still is not done. Why?

A: There are a number of reasons why a repair might not be attended to within 3-9 days:

  • If the repair requires leaseholder contributions, leaseholders need to be informed and consulted.
  • If the repair is scheduled as part of a works programme, it will be carried out whenever that programme is scheduled.
  • Some repairs take longer because we need to order special parts, which may take time.
  • A more expensive repair may require going out to tender to ensure we get the best value.
