Area Housing Panels

Area housing panels are locally based resident consultation and resident involvement forums, established to provide a means for Homes for Islington residents to be involved in Homes for Islington’s decisions regarding the provision of housing services.

The area housing panels in Islington relate to specific housing areas. The housing areas are being reorganised and this will affect arrangements for area housing panel meetings.

Please note – Boleyn Road and Isledon Road offices are now closed. Residents living in the Tollington ward come under Holland Walk housing area from 5 March 2007. Residents in the Finsbury Park, Highbury West, Highbury East and Mildmay wards are under Upper Street housing area from 26 March 2007. The membership of area housing panels may include: nominated TRA representatives, TMO representatives, elected secure tenant representatives (one per thousand or part thousand), elected leaseholder representatives (one per thousand or part thousand), and ward councillors.

The nomination of a representative may also be invited from any other recognised resident organisations in the area and the panel may decide to co-opt additional representatives if this is considered necessary to ensure that the panel is representative of residents in the area. The performance and partnership officer for each area services meetings of their area housing panel. The area housing manager for each area is responsible for ensuring that meetings are called when due, minutes taken and circulated and records kept.
