Trees

Homes for Islington (HFI) is responsible for preserving and maintaining trees on communal housing land.

HFI pays Greenspace to inspect and maintain all our estate trees. Greenspace surveys estate trees every three years. From this survey a schedule of planned works is established and completed on estate trees.

Homes for Islington regularly inspects our estates and reports any necessary works to Greenspace. Greenspace will prune trees if they are adversely affecting a property or if the health of the tree or surrounding trees is affected. However, they will not prune trees for the following reasons:

  • Where a tree is obscuring light to a window
  • Mess caused by insects or birds
  • Interference with satellite dish reception
  • Excessive leaf fall
  • Problems associated with pollen
