Digital TV

Digital TV switchover affects London in April 2012. Make sure you’re ready. If you have 5 channels or fewer on any TV in your home you will need to convert it to digital. There is a “Switchover Help Scheme” available to persons who are 75 or over or have a disability. For more information you can call 0800 40 85 900 or visit their website www.helpscheme.co.uk/en/helpscheme

Homes for Islington are carrying out a digital aerial upgrade throughout the Borough. In order to comply with the Government target of complete digital signals being broadcast by 2012, it is necessary to upgrade all exisiting communal aerials.

BSkyB will be carrying out the works to all properties within the Borough and a complete upgrade of the aerial will also include a communal Sky Satellite dish. This means that you will not need your own Sky dish on the side of the property as your new communal dish will be able to receive your Sky subscription should you have one.

In order to receive this digital service in your home you will need to have a new wall socket installed in your home which allows you to receive a service through the communal aerial system. You do not have to sign up to Sky satellite TV services - residents can choose any provider, including those with no subscription charge e.g. Freesat.

If you are a tenant and have not been able to connect to the new communal aerial system because you do not have a new wall socket, please contact AVC Digital Networks on 01463 796 325 as soon as possible.
