Housing support services for HFI residents

Housing Support is responsible for providing short-term housing related support for Islington tenants and leaseholders. This service is provided by floating support officers for clients living in reception centres across the borough, and housing support officers who are based in each area housing office.

Officers work with vulnerable tenants and leaseholders, providing support and help to allow continued independent living. Support can include:

• advocacy
• assistance in claiming benefits
• managing money
• obtaining adaptations to your home
• support and advice on developing skills to get paid work
• help and general life skills to aid health and well-being
• assist with putting you in touch with cultural and religious organisations
• referrals to more tailored external support services as required.
