The housing office is open from 9am to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday.

You can call at reception during these times or call us on 020 7527 6250 between 9am and 5pm for general housing enquiries such as:
- Rent enquiries including rent account statements and balances
- Housing benefit enquiries. Between 9am - 12.30pm you can drop in and see a trained customer services officer on a first come first served basis. More complex cases will be referred on for appointment. Otherwise you need to call Housing Benefits on 020 7527 4990 for information
- Receipt of housing benefit and other forms
- Rehousing enquiries including the housing options available to you, viewing the mutual exchange register, accessing information on choice-based lettings via the computer in the reception area or picking up the latest property list
- Booking appointments to see your housing officer or housing assistant
- Issue of new and replacement communal door key fobs - Please note a charge of £10 is made for replacing lost or stolen fobs
- Repairs to communal areas of estates (you can also report communal repairs to HFI Direct)
- Estate parking, including permits, letting of car spaces, cages and garages - For further information visit Estate Parking

- Payment of rent – For information visit How and where to pay your rent. If you need a new rent card, you can telephone to 020 7527 4057/4077 or 4048. (Please note that calls are taken on these numbers during office hours. The exception is Tuesdays and Thursdays before 2pm. At those times leave a message and they will get back to you)

We have numerous courtesy phones in reception for your use when calling council or Homes for Islington departments.
All our appointments are held in private interview rooms.
The reception area contains lots of useful information about our services and the services provided by the council, such as:
- How to get involved and participate as a resident of Islington
- Information on the services provided to your block or estate and details of works that will be taking place
- Information on our performance
- Leaflets and posters about local services including the police, fire brigade, social services, and support organisations.
We provide a translation service for our residents whose first language is not English and a sign language service for those with hearing disabilities.
