What it is for
PFI 1 and PFI 2 contracts are under under the management of Partners for Improvement in Islington (also known as “Partners.”)

The PFI Residents Forum was set up for Residents in both PFI contracts to:

  • promote the interests of all PFI tenants and leaseholders in Islington, help foster good relations between residents and with the wider community and help Partners to communicate effectively with residents
  • represent residents’ views in all aspects of Partners’ service, particularly the refurbishment programme, day-to-day repairs and housing management
  • monitor overall resident satisfaction with Partners and to work with Partners to continually improve service for residents
  • work towards the elimination of all forms of discrimination within groups in the community by encouraging all members or usually excluded groups to participate in the Forum

The Forum is non-political.

Membership
Below are some of the details concerning membership of the Forum

  • made up of up to 10 tenants and up to 5 leaseholders living in Islington homes managed by Partners
  • members elected every 2 years by Partners’ tenants and leaseholders in a ballot, unless the exact number or fewer, tenants and leaseholders apply to join the Forum, in which case these residents will automatically take up the membership of the Forum
  • To preserve a balanced representation of the community in terms of age, sex, race and disability, up to 4 additional members can be co-opted. Co-opted members do not have to be Partners’ tenants or leaseholders. Selection of co-opted members must be agreed by Forum members.

Meetings
The Forum meets every two months and not less than five times a year. Minutes will be available to all members and tenants and leaseholders on the Partners website at www.partnersislington.net. A meeting will not take place in the event that fewer than three Forum members are present.

Meetings of the Forum are not open meetings, but any Partners tenant or leaseholder who wishes to raise an issue can contact the forum in writing or can leave a message on the Forum voicemail.
