Press Release

Under 16s football competition in EC1

October 2008

Under 16s from estates in the EC1 area have been taking part in a football tournament sponsored by Apollo.

Kids from several estates across Islington took part in the event which was raising money for under 11s football team EC1 Elite. The event raised £300 for the team which will help pay their league fees and keep them on the pitch.

The team is voluntary and funded by parents and support from local businesses.

Jessie White, HFI’s Vice-chair was on hand to present the cheque to the team. Jessie said: “It’s great to be able to support an event like this. The money raised will help the team and maybe we’ll see some football stars of the future coming out of EC1!”
