Press Release

Summer fun begins

August 2008

Homes for Islington’s Central Street Area Housing Office is organising a free family fun day for our residents in the local community.

Residents will have the opportunity to get advice on housing issues, as well as find out about schemes and initiatives run by Islington Council, EC1 New Deal, the fire brigade and local Police.

The event will take place at the Central Street area housing office on Thursday 28th August
from 3pm - 7pm where there will be free face painting, massages, a bouncy castle and BBQ. We will also be raising money for the Mayor’s charity - Islington Kids Afloat - by holding a raffle where a large selection of prizes can be won.

Summer Fair – celebrating decent homes

HFI will also be hosting its annual summer fair – celebrating decent homes on Friday 29th August at St Paul’s Open Space on the New River Estate.

This event, now in its third year, provides opportunities for the kids to have fun with games and entertainers and also for residents to meet the contractors who will be carrying out their decent homes work.

This event is supported by our contractors who will have stalls at the event and be available to answer questions on works taking place.
