Islington's Youth Festival of Sport - 21st and 22nd December 2009 »
A variety of sporting Tournaments will take place on both days including 5 a-side Football, Table Tennis and Basketball. Taster Sessions are also available for Volleyball, Hockey and Badminton. All activities are FREE. Click on the link for full details.

Celebrate older people's day - 1st October
St Lukes Centre, 90 Central Street EC1 from 10am till 4pm
With health, gardening, dance, computer sessions, HFI giving you information on our services and a free lunch, you are bound to find something you like.

Community safety day - 3 October
Mayville Estate, from 10.30am till 5pm
Residents will have free fire safety checks and smoke alarms installed in their homes by London Fire Brigade. The Mayville community centre will be a hub of information and activity with free refreshments.

Black History Month
October is Black History Month. This is the 22nd year the event has been running and celebrates the contributions and culture of London's African and Caribbean communities to the UK's economic and cultural history. Please click here for details of events and more info.

Project You - Youth Organisations - Uniform
Date: Saturday 24th October from 11am-4pm
Venue: The Honourable Artillery Company, City Road, EC1Y 2BQ
The Project You open day is a unique opportunity for young people to meet and find out about uniformed organisations and other fun free activities available for them in Islington.  There will be stalls, refreshments and lots of free taster sessions.

Leaseholders' Information Fair, Rocket Complex, Holloway Road
Thursday 16th July from 2pm until 8pm
The fair will run from 2pm until 8pm with a presentation at 6pm from Councillor Barbara Smith on the new major works payment options for leaseholders. You can drop in whenever it is convenient and we will provide you with advice and support on all queries linked with the lease on your home.

Greener, Cleaner, Safer Day at Highbury Fields
Tuesday 26 May 2009 from 10am to 8pm
HFI are working in partnership with LBI and local agencies to help deal with some of the concerns of residents living in and around Highbury Fields.

We are hoping to forge links with the community and help to create an enviroment which is greener, cleaner and safer.

Whats going on?

  • Footie tournament from 12pm to 5pm
  • Bag painting/information on recycling
  • Dog training and free dog kits
  • Anti-social behaviour advice
