New Council Housing for Islington

Otley House undercroft

HFI have procured an external architect, Brady Mallalieu to carry out the design work for the demolition of the existing garages, access ramp, access stairs and bin store to enable the creation of 23 new dwellings and associated works at Otley House, 102 Gillespie Road, London N5 1LP

The proposed scheme mix is as follows:

1 x 4 Bed house
1 x 3 Bed house
18 x 2 Bed flats
1 x 3 Bed wheelchair accessible flat
2 x 1 Bed wheelchair accessible flats

The properties will include rear gardens and a frontage to St Thomas’s Road. New stairs and lift access to serve existing properties on the upper floor at Otley House, Leiston House and Kenton House will be provided. In addition new security entrance doors are proposed to the above blocks.

HFI submitted the planning application in October 2009 after carrying out consultation with the residents in the local area and the application was awarded planning permission in January 2010.
