New Build & Regeneration

New Build

Homes for Islington's New Build & Regeneration Team, on behalf of Islington council, is delivering new council homes in the Borough for the first time in over 20 years.

The new homes comprise of houses, maisonettes and flats for social rent, and where possible these are being built as large family sized homes, as there is significant demand for larger homes.

The new homes are being designed to include sustainable technologies and aim to utilise natural energy, such as rain water harvesting, ground source pumps and solar energy. The new homes delivered from the first phase of Islington Council’s development programme, Armour Close and Boleyn Road, were built to Code Level 4 for their use of sustainable solutions. The sustainable technologies have also resulted in lower utility bills for our new tenants.

The new housing will also aim to address anti-social behaviour in areas by building new homes on areas which have suffered from anti-social behaviour. Consultation with local residents takes place at the initial design stage and the views and suggestions on how to use the new build as an opportunity to improve the local area is incorporated wherever possible.
