Consultation & Involvement

Resident Involvement

If you take the time to talk - we’ll take the time to listen

HFI are looking at ways to increase how we consult with our residents and give them a greater choice in the way(s) they can be consulted.
We want to hold details of residents who have chosen how they will be consulted, how often and on the topics of their choice.

Who will be able to register?

All Homes for Islington tenants and leaseholders (including family members of any of these) as well as anyone who lives on an estate or in a block that is managed by Homes for Islington will be welcome to register.

So what kind of things will I be consulted on?

  • You could tell us your views on the services we provide
  • You will be given the chance to give your views on issues that are important to your community
  • You will have the chance to make suggestions and put forward ideas for service improvements
  • You can choose the way you want to be involved, and what you would like to be involved in

What will you be expected to do?

  • Choose the services you wish to comment on
  • Choose how you wish to be involved. Maybe it will be completing a survey, attending a conference, reply to e-mails, attending a discussion group
  • Give your views on existing housing services and priorities for improvements.
Resident Involvement Register update

The Resident Involvement Register is now in its 3rd year and has gone from strength to strength. Whilst we have a membership totalling over 890 residents, we are always looking to recruit new members to the Register.

As an ongoing process we have sent letters to all new tenants and leaseholders inviting them to join the Register. Residents who attended our summer community engagement events were also invited to join and we also include information on the Register on the website, in HFI publications and in our are housing reception areas.

Our existing members have been involved in a number of activities and their involvement and feedback has been used to develop and inform HFI policies and procedures. Recent activities that RIR Members have been involved in reviewing the complaints process, the procurement of the repairs and maintenance contract and developing frequently asked questions by leaseholders on major works.

Feedback on resident involvement activities is published in the you said, we did and survey feedback sections of the website and HFI publications.

If you would like to be involved in matters that affect you and your families or community, you can join the Register by filling in the online form or by asking for a form in our Area Housing Office. Once your form is received you will receive a confirmation of your membership. We will then contact you the next time we are carrying out consultation that suits your options and contact preferences.
