Press Release

Crack House Closure on the Holly Park Estate

April 2008

On 19th March 2008, Tollington Safer Neighbourhood Team secured a crack house closure on their ward following a lengthy investigation.

A property was identified on the Holly Park Estate, N4 which had been linked with drugs and anti-social behaviour. As a result of intelligence received from local residents, we successfully made an application to Highbury Corner Magistrates Court to issue a Closure Order.

On 10th April the court issued the Closure Order, closing the address for a 3-month period. During this period Homes for Islington will be initiating proceedings to re-possess the premises.

Sergeant Andy Issitt said:

" Tollington Safer Neighbourhood Team is committed to taking action against any premises where evidence shows they are being used for the use, supply or production of Class A drugs. Where we also have evidence the address is associated with disorder or serious nuisance we will take immediate steps to close the address by applying to the courts.”

If you know or are concerned about an address near you being used for the supply or use of drugs then you can contact Tollington Safer Neighbourhood Team on 020 7421 0559.
