Fixed Penalty Notices

The team have the authority to issue fixed penalty notices for offences such as failing to comply with dog control orders.

Dog Control Orders

In 2008 LBI introduced Dog Control Orders. These orders prohibit dog owners from failing to do the following:

  • Failing to remove dog fouling in any public space.
  • Not putting and keeping a dog on a lead when directed to do so by an authorised officer in any public space areas.
  • Permitting a dog to enter land from which dogs are excluded which applies to specific areas only.

Any individual who fails to comply with any of the above orders may be subject to a fixed penalty notice of £80.

Performance

Since the introduction of these orders the team have issued 102 Fixed Penalty Notices. If you have a problem with irresponsible dog owners in your area and can identify times of day this is taking place, let us know by calling the hotline number 0207 527 7272.

More information can be found on the responsible dog ownership web page.
