About Us

Equality and Diversity

Homes for Islington is committed to promoting equality and diversity among our customers and staff. We aim to ensure that our services meet the needs of all our customers and that we provide services in a way that is fair and accessible to all.

Homes for Islington has an Equality and Diversity Strategy 2009-2012 (pdf file 288Kb) to support these overall aims, and an Equality and Diversity Action Plan 2009-2012 (pdf file 187Kb) that is linked to it and reviewed each year. A summary (pdf file 52Kb) of the equality and Diversity 2009-2012 strategy is also available. An overview of progress is given in the Equality and Diversity Summary of Performance 2009-2010 Report (pdf file 48Kb)

An important part of our aim to provide fair services that do not discriminate or have a negative impact on any particular groups. Homes for Islington have an on-going programme of 'Equality Impact Assessments' aimed at ensuring that our policies, procedures and working practices are non-discriminatory. The impact assessments cover race, gender, disability, age, religion or belief and sexuality.

Part of offering access to Homes for Islington services is our translation and interpreting services.
