Bright Sparks is Islington’s Repair and Reuse service. You can donate many of your old or broken electrical items instead of putting them in the rubbish bin. Alternatively you can take them to the Bright Sparks shop at 225-229 Seven Sisters Road and get them repaired or buy a replacement in the shop.
Since its launch on 21st June 2010 Bright Sparks has saved 3.7 tonnes of CO2e. We expect this to rapidly increase in the next quarter because our contractor will start delivering suitable items from empty properties.
There are a number of donation sites across the borough including the Bright Sparks shop, the household Reuse and Recycling Centre and a number of HFI community centres. For the full list of donation points visit the Islington Council website.
The shop and workshop also provide work experience, training and volunteering opportunities on a rolling program in the workshop and at the retail outlet.
If you are interested please call in at the Bright Sparks shop, contact Diye Wariebi at Bright Sparks by email at diye@digibridge.co.uk or if you would like to talk about one of the positions call Diye on 020 7561 5515.
