The Bright Sparks shop (Islington's Small electrical goods reuse and repair shop) officially opens its doors on Tuesday 22nd June. All items for sale in the shop have been tested and checked.
The aim is to provide a convenient repair and recycling service for people and to avoid useful appliances getting in the waste stream. The Bright Sparks shop is based on Seven Sisters Road but as this is a community project there will be lots of events around the borough to enable people to pick up or drop off appliances near their doorstep.
We hope that HFI residents will be major contributors to the project. We are planning various collection points on our estates, ‘bring and take’ events and suitable items from empty properties will be taken to the workshop.
